Sable's First Clap

Sable the fennec fox kit stood at the door. The den was big. New smells drifted in. New light spilled on the floor. Her paws felt cold on the sand. She looked back at Mama.
Inside, the other kits sang the good-morning song. Clap, clap, tap. They knew every word by heart. The clapping went fast. Sable had never heard this song.
