These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Moonlytales ("we", "us", "the Service") — a bedtime-story library and reading tools for parents and caregivers.

By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Moonlytales is designed for adults — parents, guardians, and caregivers — who read stories aloud to children. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to register.

You represent that you are the parent or legal guardian of any child profile you create, or that you have verified parental consent before entering a child's information.

The Service is not directed at children. Children must not create accounts or use the app without a supervising adult.

You alone decide which stories are appropriate for your child on any given night. Moonlytales provides situation-tagged stories to help you choose; it does not replace your judgment.

You are solely responsible for reviewing story content before and during reading, supervising your child, and deciding whether a story fits your family's values, your child's age, sensitivities, and tonight's context.

Stories — including AI-assisted or human-curated content — may not suit every child. Themes such as fear, grief, sibling rivalry, or boundaries are handled gently for bedtime, but only you know your child best.

Nothing in the Service is medical, psychological, legal, or other professional advice. If you have concerns about your child's behaviour or wellbeing, consult a qualified professional.

We strive to keep stories age-appropriate, warm, and suitable for bedtime. Content passes moderation and quality checks, but we do not guarantee that every story will be error-free, complete, or perfect for your situation.

Stories may be updated, re-tagged, or removed without notice. We may add or change features (including subscription limits, trials, and library size) as the product evolves.

You may not copy, scrape, resell, or redistribute story text or other Service content except as allowed by normal personal use within the app.

Keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.

You agree not to misuse the Service: no unlawful use, harassment, attempts to bypass access controls, automated scraping, or interference with other users.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose risk to the Service or other users.

We collect only what we need to run the Service — for example, your account details and, if you choose, a child's first name and age band for recommendations.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use children's data to train third-party AI models. See our privacy practices in product documentation and update notices.

You may delete child profiles and your account from the account settings page. We will honour deletion requests in line with applicable law (including COPPA-style parental controls where they apply).

Paid plans, free trials, and promotional access are described at checkout. Prices, features, and trial length may change with notice where required.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your account or via the payment method on file. Refunds are handled according to the policy shown at purchase and applicable consumer law.

Payment processing is provided by Stripe. Their terms apply to payment methods you add to Moonlytales.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that stories will achieve any particular parenting or developmental outcome.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MOONLYTALES AND ITS FOUNDERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR FROM ANY STORY READ TO A CHILD.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) EUR 50, EXCEPT WHERE LAW DOES NOT ALLOW SUCH LIMITS.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted by law.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be notified by email or in-app notice where appropriate.

Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
