The Moonfox Detective

Ages 3–85 min read

Detective Moonfox was on the case.

Someone had stolen all the slippers in the house — every last pair. Left-foot slippers. Right-foot slippers. The fuzzy bear ones with the little ears. The pink fluffy ones. Even the boring grey ones nobody really liked. ALL of them. Gone.

Moonfox put on her tiny detective hat (which was actually just a thimble) and took out her tiny magnifying glass (which was actually just a monocle she made from a button). She straightened her tail. A detective should always have a straightened tail.

"Clue number one!" she cried. "A fluff. A single, suspicious fluff."

She inspected the fluff. It smelled, faintly, of pine cones and laundry. Suspicious. Very suspicious.

She followed the fluff under the sofa. Under the sofa, she found two more fluffs and a very surprised dust bunny, who said, "Oh hello," and went back to its dust-bunny business.

She followed the fluffs around the plant.

Sleep tight.
